Onboarding programme2022Role: Owner & designer
Day one, redesigned
Rebuilt onboarding from a scattered set of emails into a single, warm, repeatable programme — ready the Friday before every start date.

Completed
The brief
New starters were arriving to missing laptops, no building access and a manager in back-to-back meetings. First impressions were costing us.
What I did
- Wrote a two-week pre-start checklist shared between People, IT and the hiring manager.
- Designed a welcome kit — laptop, keycard, notebook, a small plant and a handwritten note.
- Built a first-week schedule template so every new hire had lunch, a buddy and a tour booked.
- Added a 30-day check-in survey and reviewed the results every quarter.
The outcome
New-hire satisfaction rose to 4.8 out of 5, and day-one IT tickets dropped by 70%. Managers started asking to "borrow" the checklist for their own teams.
